Screens · batteries · ports · back glass · cameras
MacBooks are our speciality, but iPhones come across the same bench every day. Screens and batteries are the most common jobs and are usually done the same day when the part is in stock.
Five common repairs
Cracked glass, lines, a green tint, touch that misbehaves or dead zones.
Before you comeIf touch still works, back up to iCloud or a computer before you come in.
Health below 80 %, “Service” message, sudden shutdowns, a phone that will not last the day.
Before you comeCheck Settings → Battery → Battery Health. Numbers are explained below.
Cable only works at an angle, falls out, or the phone will not charge at all.
Before you comeLook in the port with a light. Pocket lint packed into a Lightning or USB-C port is the most common cause.
Cracked or shattered rear glass.
Before you comeCover sharp edges with tape so the cracks do not spread or cut you on the way over.
Blurry or shaking pictures, a black camera, a cracked lens cover.
Before you comeTry each lens (wide, ultra-wide, zoom) — a single failed module narrows it down.
Battery numbers, explained
Open Settings → Battery → Battery Health. On iPhone 15 and later you can also see the cycle count in Settings → General → About.
| iPhone | Apple’s design target |
|---|---|
| iPhone 15 and later | 80 % of original capacity at 1,000 full cycles |
| iPhone 14 and earlier | 80 % of original capacity at 500 full cycles |
Below 80 %, or a “Service” message under Battery Health, is the point where a new battery makes a clear difference to how long the phone lasts and whether it shuts down under load.
Know what is inside your phone
Recent iPhones keep a record of repairs. Go to Settings → General → About and, if a part such as the battery, display or camera has been replaced, a Parts and Service History section appears showing which parts were changed and whether they are genuine Apple parts.
That makes it easy to know what you are getting — on a phone you are buying second-hand as much as on one you are having repaired. Before you agree to a repair, ask which part will be fitted and how it will show up there. A good repair shop answers that question plainly.
Face ID hardware is paired to the phone it came with, so it is never swapped between phones; screen work is done around it with care.
iPhone repair
Common screen and battery repairs are usually done the same day when the part is in stock. Call with your iPhone model and we will check before you come.
It depends on the model and the part, and part prices change often, so we quote by phone or at the counter. You hear the price before any work starts.
Recent iPhones list repaired parts in Settings → General → About → Parts and Service History and show whether each one is a genuine Apple part. Ask us at the counter which part we are fitting for your repair and how it will appear there before you agree.
No. Apple itself advises against rice, because small grains and starch can get into the phone. Tap it gently with the port facing down, leave it somewhere dry with air moving, and do not charge it while the port is wet.
Ask at the counter what your repair needs. Many repairs can be completed without it; if a function has to be tested afterwards, you can test it with us before you leave.
